The Annual Convention
This event gathers ELT stakeholders and decision makers to reflect and discuss ELT-related issues and to assess the impact of the English language on Benin’s development. It takes place in Spring.
The English Clubs Summit
English clubs are student institutions that support formal ELT activities. They organize activities in areas ELT programs don’t cover in formal classes and help students with the mastery of the English language. Beyond those activities, English clubs are also agents of development in their communities. That’s why a summit is organized every year to build the capacities of the leaders those clubs for a better impact on the development of their communities.
The Language Immersion Program
The immersion program takes teachers out of Benin to neighboring English speaking countries for language, social, academic and professional networking with Anglophones. This program is co-organized with sister TAs in the host countries.
Teachers Tour Benin
It’s a sightseeing program to show teachers English teachers contribution to the development of tourism in Benin. It is organized in collaboration with the BNTEA branch of the host area. .
The Summer Workshops
This program takes place in Summer in many locations throughout Benin when schools are closed for holidays. It aims at building the capacities of basic and secondary level teachers. The one-day ELT workshops are co-facilitated by home and foreign facilitators.
School Visit & Peer Observation
Every week, BNTEA visits schools to support and comfort teachers in their daily work. It is also an opportunity to assess the training needs of teachers.
